1.Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Marc Prehn-Mehlsen, trading as Brand Builders Playbook, Denmark ("we", "us", "our"). We run brandbuildersplaybook.com, a Shopify design agency offering store design and development, digital marketing and the Done For You Shopify Store service.

2.What data we collect

Data you give us

• Purchases: your name, email, billing details and order information when you buy. Card details are handled by our payment provider, and we never see or store your full card number.
• Done For You and client projects: the answers you give in our questionnaire and the material you send us to build your store or run your marketing, such as your logo, product information, images, Shopify access and ad account access.
• Contact: anything you write to us by email or Instagram message, and our replies.
• Email list: your email address if you sign up for our emails.

Data collected automatically

• Technical data: when you visit the site, our hosting provider and the services that load on the page receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you visit.

3.Why we use your data, and our legal basis

• To deliver what you bought, including building your store for the Done For You service and carrying out client projects. Legal basis: performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• To send you updates and marketing emails you signed up for. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
• To answer your questions and give support. Legal basis: contract, or our legitimate interest in helping you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
• To keep accounting records of sales, as required by Danish bookkeeping law. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
• To run, secure and improve the website, for example to keep it working and prevent misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for automated decisions that have legal effects for you.

4.Who we share it with

We only share your data with trusted providers that help us run the business, and only what they need:

• PayPal: checkout and payments
• Vercel: website hosting
• Google Workspace: our email
• Google Fonts: the fonts on the site, which means your browser connects to Google's servers
• Kit: our email list and the emails we send you, if you sign up
• Instagram (Meta): if you send us a message on Instagram
• Shopify: when we build or work on your store
• Our accountant and authorities, where the law requires it

These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.

5.Transfers outside the EU

Some of our providers are based in the United States or other countries outside the EU/EEA. When data is transferred there, it's protected by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6.How long we keep your data

• Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it
• Purchase and accounting records: 5 years from the end of the financial year, as Danish bookkeeping law requires
• Project material: for the project and support period, and up to 12 months after, unless you ask us to delete it sooner
• Support emails and messages: as long as needed to help you, and no longer than 3 years after our last contact

7.Cookies and similar technologies

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on brandbuildersplaybook.com, and the site doesn't store cookies in your browser. The videos on the site are hosted by us, not by a third-party video platform.

If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent where it's required.

8.Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• Get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Have incorrect data corrected
• Have your data deleted, unless we must keep it by law
• Restrict or object to how we use your data
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from emails

To use any of these rights, email support@brandbuildersplaybook.com. We reply within one month.

9.How we protect your data

We use reputable providers, secure (https) connections and access controls, and we only give access to people who need it. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

10.Children

Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

11.Complaints

If you think we handle your data incorrectly, please contact us first so we can fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), or to the data protection authority in the country where you live.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our business or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make important changes, we'll let you know by email or on the site.
